Kurmond to Mount Panorama, Bathurst via Hartley

Join us for a weekend in Bathurst to witness the spectacle that is “Challenge Bathurst”, a motorsport event featuring an entire class dedicated to the Z! What to expect? 👉 Watch this!
Main Departure Point:
Kurmond shops, 519 Bells Line of Rd, Kurmond (Just past BP Truckstop)
Arrive by 8:45am, leave 9:00am Sharp!
This venue has restrooms, food and fuel. If you want breakfast, fuel or coffee arrive with enough time to leave by 9:00am
Stage 1 – Kurmond to Hartley via Bell & Mount Victoria
10:00am Arrive at historic Hartley Postmistress café & store for morning tea.
11:00am Depart
Stage 2 – Hartley to Mount Panorama via Wambool
12:15pm Arrive at Mount Panorama, Challenge Bathurst & National Motor Racing Museum
Main Run – Depart 9:00am
Arrive at the Main Departure Point by 8:45 on for 9:00am.
Stage 1 – Kurmond to Hartley via Bell & Mount Victoria
Distance 73km Estimated Time: 1:05
- Depart BP and head west on Bells Line of Rd to Bell – 52km
- Turn left onto Darling Causeway to Mount Victoria – 10 km
- Turn right onto Great Western Hwy to Hartley 10km
Take exit marked “Historic Hartley Village”
Stop for morning tea break and short sight seeing – Depart 11:00am

Stage 2 – Hartley to Mount Panorama via Wambool
Distance 83km Estimated Time: 1:10
- Depart Hartley, return to Great Western Highway, continue west for 51km
- Turn left at Walang onto Timber Ridge Rd. (550mtrs after Sibleys Rd/Yetholme on right) Follow to end 6kms.
- Turn right Tarana Rd heading west towards Brewongle. Follow to end 11kms.
- Turn right onto O’Connell Rd. Follow to end at Kelso 7kms.
- Turn left onto Great Western Highway. Follow 2kms.
- Turn left Havannah St. Follow to end 3kms.
- Turn left onto Panorama Ave
- Take 1st exit on Round-a-bout to enter museum carpark.
Visit the Racing Museum or find a vantage point to enjoy the track action.
Bathurst too far?
If you’re a bit pressed for time, but still fancy a cruise, join the club at the Kurmond starting point and run to Hartley for morning tea.
Head home via Lithgow with a lunch break at Bilpin.
- Depart Hartley, return to Great Western Highway, continue west for 11km to Lithgow
- Turn right onto Main St, Lithgow (Lights with Red Rooster, McDonald’s & Hungry Jacks) 1.5kms
- Turn right onto Lithgow St (Supercheap Auto, signs to Windsor) 100mtrs
- Turn left onto Mort St (Signs to Windsor) Becomes Chifley Rd. Follow to Bell 18kms
- Keep left to join Bells Line of Road. Follow to Bilpin 33kms
