The Lions Club Festival at Gannons Park has been a ”not to miss” for the Z Car Club for a number of years and Sundays (Sept 21st) was certainly no different. The Festival includes all the fun of the fair with rides (camel and mechanical), stalls, food, dog exercises, and Medieval fighting. For one jousting knight this proved to be a real knockout, literally. A number of marques also take advantage of the large crowd to display their wares.

After the August drenching at Shannons a total of 17 club cars arrived on a lovely spring morning . It was an excellent turn out with the full range of Z’s from 240’s (great to see Brett up and running) through 260’s, 280’s, 31’s and 32’s and 350’s  to 370’s. It also showed the skill and dedication required from members to restore and maintain their pride and joys, none less so than the restoration of Brians 280, driven and stunningly upholstered by son Brett.

The highlight must be said to be the barbeque provided by Vanessa and Darko. All day sausages and onion, could not ask for more.

Congratulations to all for the great turn out and advertisement for the club. Hopefully we can repeat at the Museum of Fire show and Shine next month.
